Masseria Belmonte located 16 km from the city of Taranto, included in the protected area of the Delle Gravine Regional Natural Park, established in 2005 to protect the landscape and wildlife heritage.
The property called "Masseria Belmonte" has a masonry load-bearing structure and is divided into several levels, each with a different destination and characterization.
The main façade, accessible from a special entrance, is composed of a central portion on two floors, distributed by an internal staircase, and a lower portion located laterally, arranged on a single floor. This portion is divided into three rooms, each accessible directly from the outside and covered in a vault. Other rooms are always located on the ground floor, between the two external stairs. These are always service areas, equipped with small side closets and a compartment with oven/fireplace. The first floor consists of three rooms, two of which are communicating and have a direct view of the main façade. The third room instead overlooks the rear facade and is characterized by a succession of rooms, one of which with a fireplace. From one of these rooms you get to the outdoor terrace that allows a panoramic view of the context in which the farm is located. The farm can be accessed via an unpaved path that departs from Via Lecce. From this path, by means of a secondary path, you reach the rear of the property and the neighboring grounds. The property is in fact surrounded by land, bordered by dry stone walls, partly cultivated with olive groves and partly uncultivated, land on which secondary buildings stand.
The land falls within the area:
- “E - Agricultural” of the variant to the current Manufacturing Plan, allowing the construction of the rural house and accessories for tools, animal shelters and product storage. It is possible to request a derogation from the rules indicated for industrial buildings in the service of agriculture, provided they are recognized as being of public interest.
