AT AUCTION Inactive biogas energy plant in Castel Volturno (CE), Via Pietro Pagliuca snc - LOT 3
Biogas energy production plant, consisting of a concrete digester and an internal combustion cogeneration engine in a container, and equipment such as piping, pumps, trenches and sheds for storage, electrical substation, located on Via Pietro Pagliuca.
The unit was built on third-party land under a contract for the transfer of the right of surface on third-party land for a duration of 20 years, automatically extendable twice by 5 years and therefore by 10 years, without prejudice to the right granted to the concessionaire to waive it. The fee was set at 2,500 euros/year for the first 20 years and 3,000 euros/year for the following 10.
The plant has an electrical power of 100 kW, with a maximum deliverable electrical power therefore of 700 kW, and consists of a single fermenter fed by livestock effluents (as well as any by-products of food origin), collected in a suitably sized pre-tank obtained from volumes already available on the farm. The fermenter is equipped with a gas-holder dome for biogas storage.
The biogas produced is conveyed to the cogeneration engine for the production of electrical and thermal energy, after pre-treatment by dehumidification and desulfurization, while the digestate is conveyed to the existing storage tanks to be reused as stabilized soil amendment for fertilizing fields. The plant is fed using the effluents produced by the livestock farm adjacent to which the plant itself was built. In this way, the biomass can be moved, into and out of the digester, exclusively through buried pipes and pumps, avoiding road transport and/or mechanical means. In order to ensure a constant availability of biomass to feed the digester, and avoid drops in biogas production, provision was also made for a back-up system for loading stackable material, capable of making up for any possible and temporary shortage of pumpable biomass due to potential business issues. It is not necessary to equip the area with any storage site for supplementary biomass, as it is expected that the raw material will be transported on demand to the site according to integration/feeding needs.
In order to maximize the value, i.e., its profitability, it is advisable to convert the currently inactive biogas production plant to biomethane.
A right of surface and easement was established on the plant on 31/08/2016 (Registered in Naples 1 on 14/09/2016 no. 17523 Series 1T)
